Apple's latest OS for iPhone has dsaeblid all 3rd party cables by requiring cables to have a custom chip in them for no other reason then to funnel even more insane amounts of money to Apple. You aren't paying $50 for this cable, you are paying $5 for the cable and $45 for the privilege of adding video out to your device.Do yourself a huge favor and do one of these instead:1) Buy the Griffin AV cable. If you get it from Amazon it's a little cheaper then this one for a practically identical cable (better quality actually). Some money still gets funneled back to Apple (Griffin has to pay for that stupid chip), but at least not as much.2) Jailbreak your phone and use any of the $5-$10 AV cables just fine. By far the best option. Because of this underhanded, customer hostile nonsense the iPhone will be my last Apple purchase ever. Once my contract is up, Android here I come.

You mean the driver for the adapetr. Does the Device Manager show the adapetr? If so (it might have a red X on it) all is not lost. Get the make/model number off that and search the interwebs for that driver. If it doesn't show in the Device Manager, it may have come loose from its slot. If it's a laptop then turn it over and look for a little door held shut with 1 or 2 screws. Power down, unplug and remove the battery from the laptop. Take off the door and there will be your adapetr. remove it and replace it making sure it is seated well in its slot. This would also apply to a PCI adapetr in a desktop although it's less likely to be the problem. When you boot up it should now show up in the DM. If not then it may be fried. You can either buy a new one or get the USB kind.
